Solutions · Equipment setting
Equipment setting supplies for pumps, motors, compressors, presses, machine tools and turbines: epoxy and cement grout, cast-in and adhesive anchors, leveling mounts and isolation pads. Stocked in the brands OEM installation manuals and project specs name, and shipped to your plant or jobsite on the date the setting crew needs them. Machinery grouting is the work Indcon does most.

Scope of supply
Equipment setting covers the anchoring, leveling, grouting and alignment of pumps, motors, compressors, presses, machine tools and other machinery. Methods differ by equipment, OEM, specification and installer. These are the product families Indcon supplies across that work.
Cast-in anchor bolts for new foundations, and anchoring adhesives and grouted bolts for existing concrete.
Anchoring productsLeveling mounts and isolation pads for machines set directly on a plant floor rather than grouted.
Mounts and padsEpoxy grout and cement grout for baseplates, soleplates, skids and crane rails, from thin-pour kits to deep-pour units.
Epoxy and cement groutMixing paddles and grout pumps for the grout being placed, from small kits to large placements.
Paddles and pumpsFoundations and anchor bolts
New foundations take cast-in anchors set with the pour; replacements and relocations on existing slabs take adhesive anchors or grouted bolts in core-drilled pockets. The anchor type, diameter and embedment come from the structural drawings or the OEM foundation drawing.
Before you order: Unisorb Jakebolts are cast with the foundation, so they are ordered before the pour with the bolt diameter, projection and template. Vector Bolts are grouted into pre-formed or core-drilled pockets. For adhesive anchors, match the product to the evaluation report the drawings cite; ratings are per product, not per brand.
Leveling and vibration isolation
Not every machine is grouted. Machine tools and production equipment on a plant floor are often set on adjustable leveling mounts or isolation pads, which make relocation and re-leveling simpler. Rotating equipment on an engineered foundation is usually grouted.
| Support method | Where it fits and what to confirm | Products |
|---|---|---|
| Full grout bed under a baseplate or soleplate | Pumps, compressors, turbines, presses and other equipment on engineered foundations. Confirm the OEM grouting requirement, grout thickness, plate clearance and how leveling devices are handled. | Epoxy and Cement Grout |
| Adjustable leveling mounts | Machine tools and production equipment set on the plant floor. Confirm load per mount, the adjustment you need, the machine's leveling bolt size and whether isolation is wanted. | Unisorb Level-Rite (elastomer isolation pad, 1 3/8 in adjustment); Lev-L-Ine (spherical aligning disc for uneven floors) |
| Isolation pads under machine feet | Light and medium-duty machines where walking and transmitted vibration are the problem. Confirm the load on each foot and whether the floor sees oils and coolant or water and chemicals. | Unisorb Red-Line pads, wool or synthetic fiber by exposure |
Before you order: send the machine weight, number of feet or mounting points, foot dimensions and the leveling bolt thread. Mount and pad sizes are chosen from the load on each point, and impact or press loads reduce the published rating.
Baseplates, soleplates and rails
Grout under a baseplate or soleplate transfers the machine's load and vibration into the foundation, so the requirement comes from the equipment first: dynamic load, clearance under the plate, pour depth, operating temperature, chemical exposure and how soon the machine returns to service.
| Equipment | What drives the choice | Usual direction |
|---|---|---|
| Pumps, motors, compressors, turbines | Vibration, alignment retention and oil exposure. OEM manuals and API RP 686 Chapter 5 commonly govern, with limits on creep (ASTM C1181), compressive strength (ASTM C579) and effective bearing area (ASTM C1339). | Epoxy grout; deep-pour formulation where the grout thickness requires it |
| Presses, forging hammers, reciprocating engines | Impact and cyclic loading on the grout and anchor bolts. Pour depth and heat of reaction matter on large bases; follow the product's lift limits. | High-strength epoxy grout; ask us to confirm the product for the load |
| Machine tools, crane rails, soleplates | Bearing area, clearance and whether the floor sees coolant or oil. Long narrow placements need a grout that flows the full length. | Precision non-shrink cement grout, or epoxy where chemical exposure or tight clearance calls for it |
| Tanks, vessels, columns, static equipment | Static load and bearing. Placement temperature and return-to-service time often matter more than chemistry. | Non-shrink cement grout to ASTM C1107 |
| Kilns, furnaces, hot process equipment | Sustained operating temperature and thermal cycling. General-purpose grouts are not rated for it. | High-temperature cementitious grout such as Five Star HTR |
Before you order: neat grout volume is plate length times width times grout thickness, plus the headbox, shoulders and forming allowance. Divide by the published yield of the exact unit and round up. Epoxy units are usually conditioned to temperature for a day or more before placement; check the product's placement window against the forecast.
Mixing and placement
Mix method follows the grout data sheet. Liquid epoxy components are blended with a low-speed paddle before aggregate goes in; full-size epoxy and cement units are often mixed in a mortar mixer. Large or hard-to-reach placements may be pumped.
Before you order: confirm the grout's required mixer type and batch size, and whether the pump is rated for the grout's aggregate and consistency. Mixing too fast can entrain air in epoxy grout.
Specs and standards
Estimators and millwrights work from the OEM manual and the spec book. These are the references that most often name the products on this page.

| 03 62 00 Non-Shrink Grouting | Cement grout under baseplates, bearing plates, columns and static equipment; usually cites ASTM C1107 | Cement grout |
| 03 63 00 Epoxy Grouting | Epoxy grout under machinery; often cites ASTM C579, C1181 and C1339 | Epoxy grout |

Project and shutdown orders
Send the specified products and quantities for the installation, shutdown or relocation you are pricing. If the grout or anchor is still open, include the OEM grouting requirement and baseplate details and we will help select it.
Indcon runs dedicated sites for epoxy grout and cement grout, where the full line, mixing and placement guides and selection help live.

Thin, standard and deep-pour epoxy grout from Five Star, Sika, Euclid, Stratarock and Adhesives Technology, with mixing and placement guides.

Standard, high and ultra-high-strength non-shrink cementitious grout for baseplates, bearing plates and equipment foundations.
Visit CementGrout.comFollow the OEM installation manual first. Pumps, compressors, turbines and other rotating or impact-loaded equipment are usually specified for epoxy grout because of vibration, alignment retention, creep limits and oil resistance. Static equipment, columns and many bearing plates are commonly set on non-shrink cement grout to ASTM C1107. Send us the OEM requirement and we will confirm the product.
Multiply plate length by width by grout thickness for the neat volume, then add the headbox, shoulders and forming allowance. Divide by the published yield of the exact unit and round up to whole units. We will check your takeoff against the product's yield.
Forming requirements come from the grout manufacturer's installation instructions and vary by product. Most call for rigid, braced forms that are liquid-tight and sealed where they meet the foundation, with a release on the inside faces: paste wax or polyethylene film for epoxy grout, a form release agent for cement grout. The form top is set above the underside of the plate, and a headbox is often built on the pour side to keep head pressure on the grout. Form clearances, chamfer strips and expansion joints in long epoxy pours are set by each product's instructions.
Every grout has a published placement window for material, foundation and air temperature. Epoxy units usually need to be conditioned, and the foundation brought into range, before placement. Tell us the forecast and we will flag products and conditioning steps that fit it.
Leveling mounts and isolation pads suit machine tools and production equipment set on a plant floor, especially when the machine may be moved or re-leveled. Equipment on an engineered foundation with a grouting requirement from the OEM is grouted. Mounts are sized from the load on each mounting point.
