Frequently Asked Questions

Which ICC-ES report covers Ultrabond EPX-3CC?
Ultrabond EPX-3CC is evaluated in ICC-ES ESR-4533 for cracked and uncracked concrete. That is the EPX epoxy report. HS-1CC uses ESR-4094. ACRYL-8CC uses ESR-4249. Keep the EPX report with EPX-3CC.

What approved temperature range does Ultrabond EPX-3CC list?
Ultrabond EPX-3CC is approved between 48F and 108F. That is a tighter structural window than HS-1CC's 43F to 110F structural band. Stay inside 48F to 108F on EPX-3CC code work.

Can Ultrabond EPX-3CC be used in water-filled holes?
Yes. Ultrabond EPX-3CC is suitable for dry, water-saturated, and water-filled conditions with threaded rod or rebar. Submerged underwater holes are a HS-1CC listing. Stay on HS-1CC when the hole is actually underwater.

Is Ultrabond EPX-3CC used for seismic and wind on cracked concrete?
Yes. Ultrabond EPX-3CC is assessed to ACI 355.4 and ICC-ES AC308 for cracked and uncracked concrete, including seismic and wind loading for structural design to ACI 318. That is the EPX cracked-concrete epoxy case.

Can Ultrabond EPX-3CC be used in USDA inspected facilities?
Yes. Ultrabond EPX-3CC is acceptable for USDA inspected facilities. Keep the current EPX sheet with the plant file when the anchors sit in a USDA space.

Does Ultrabond EPX-3CC work in bulk as well as in a cartridge?
Yes. Ultrabond EPX-3CC is approved in cartridges or bulk dispensing systems. Same 1:1 epoxy, same ESR-4533 listing. Bulk is a delivery method, not a different adhesive.
