Avanti AV-290 Fast-Set 22oz Cartridge Case 6

Avanti AV-290 Fast Set is a dual-component hydrophobic polyurethane grout for large below-grade voids. It expands on free rise into a rigid, closed-cell foam and does not need water to react.

  • Below-grade void filling
  • High-flow slowing with a companion Avanti resin
  • Pipe and tank abandonment

Avanti AV-290 Fast Set Hydrophobic Polyurethane Grout, 22oz Cartridge

Avanti AV-290 Fast Set is a dual-component hydrophobic MDI polyurethane for filling large below-grade voids in high water flow. Water is not required for the reaction. The foam expands on free rise, cures rigid and closed-cell, and is used for probe grouting, curtain grouting, pressure injection, and pipe or tank abandonment. When high water must be slowed, Avanti specifies AV-290 Fast Set with another injection resin rather than as a stand-alone seal.

Key Features

  • 22oz dual cartridge, case of 6: Part A 10.9 fl. oz. (325 ml) and Part B 10.9 fl. oz. (325 ml) per cartridge.
  • Dual-component hydrophobic MDI-based polyurethane (Part A amber liquid, Part B pale yellow liquid).
  • Injected at a 1:1 Part A to Part B ratio through a static mixer at the point of injection.
  • Does not require water to react.
  • Reacts within seconds and cures to a rigid, impermeable, closed-cell foam.
  • Free-rise expansion of 1,500% to 2,600%.
  • Free-rise compressive strength of 20.2 psi; cured density 1.5 lbs/ft³ free rise and 2.5 lbs/ft³ confined.
  • Withstands wet/dry cycles.
  • Listed as non-toxic on the current technical data sheet.
  • Supports probe grouting, curtain grouting, and pressure injection.
  • When used to slow high water flows, specify with another Avanti injection resin rather than as a stand-alone seal.

Applications

  • Large void filling on the exterior of below-grade structures.
  • Pipe and tank abandonments (place in small lifts; the Part A/Part B reaction is exothermic).
  • Slowing high water flow in below-grade structures, used with a companion Avanti injection resin.
  • Probe grouting, curtain grouting, and pressure injection.

Packaging Dual cartridge, quantity 6. Part A 10.9 fl. oz. (325 ml) and Part B 10.9 fl. oz. (325 ml) per cartridge. Sold as 22oz cartridge case of 6.
Storage 45°F to 95°F (7°C to 35°C) in a dry atmosphere. Keep containers tightly closed. Packaged under dry nitrogen to keep moisture out.
Equipment Cleaning Do not use water. Flush uncured resin with AV-284 Pump Wash. Purge remaining wash and moisture with AV-208 Technical Grade Acetone. Use AV-222 Cleaner for cured resin.
Related Avanti Grouts AV-202 Multigrout is a different Avanti product, not a size of AV-290. Use AV-290 with another Avanti injection resin when the job is high water flow rather than as a stand-alone seal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can AV-290 Fast Set be used for probe grouting?
Yes. AV-290 Fast Set supports probe grouting on below-grade structures. The dual-component hydrophobic foam expands into the void as Part A and Part B react.

Can AV-290 Fast Set be used for curtain grouting?
Yes. AV-290 Fast Set is listed for curtain grouting as well as pressure injection. It is a hydrophobic foam for large below-grade voids, not a hydrophilic crack resin.

Does AV-290 Fast Set expand enough to fill a large void?
Yes. AV-290 Fast Set free-rise expands 1,500 to 2,600 percent. That expansion is how it fills large exterior voids on below-grade structures.

Does AV-290 Fast Set cure to a closed-cell foam?
Yes. AV-290 Fast Set reacts within seconds and cures rigid, impermeable, and closed-cell. The cured foam can take wet and dry cycles.

Should AV-290 Fast Set be used with another Avanti resin on high water flow?
Yes. When AV-290 Fast Set is used to slow high water flows, Avanti specifies it with another Avanti injection resin rather than as a stand-alone seal.

Is AV-290 Fast Set used for pressure injection of below-grade voids?
Yes. AV-290 Fast Set is listed for pressure injection of large below-grade voids. Water is not required for the reaction.
