Avanti AV-202-NTP Multigrout NTP is a single-component polyurethane injection resin made with an MDI/TDI blend and activated by moisture. It is intended for sealing active water leaks in large cracks or joints in concrete and brick structures, including applications where high-volume water flow is an active or potential problem and a high viscosity chemistry is required. The resin seeks out water in the crack and the pores of the substrate and adheres to the surface, then expands into a tight compressive seal, and the network of compressed grout in the cracks sets up a mechanical lock. Mixed at the preferred 1:1 water-to-resin ratio it forms a strong, impermeable bond; at 10:1 it turns into a gel. It is pumped as a single component without pre-mixing, and goes on by the Expanded Gasket Placement (EGP), Needle Penetration (NPT) and Variable Pressure Application (V-PAT) techniques. Avanti states this version is equivalent to AV-202 Multigrout but is NOT certified for use in potable water applications; for drinking water work, AV-202 Multigrout is the version tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI/CAN 61.

What is the difference between AV-202-NTP and AV-202 Multigrout?
Avanti states AV-202-NTP is equivalent to AV-202 Multigrout, however NOT certified for use in potable water applications. AV-202 Multigrout is the version tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 Drinking Water System Components.
How fast does AV-202-NTP react?
At 1:1 water to resin, laboratory cream / gel times are 0:39 / 3:02 at 40 F (4 C), 0:21 / 1:05 at 70 F (21 C) and 0:15 / 0:55 at 80 F (27 C). At 10:1 the gel time is 3:34 at 40 F and 0:56 at 70 F. Resin and water temperatures and site water change these times, so run a standard cup test with site water.
Can AV-203 Multicat be added?
Yes, at low temperatures or to cut off high water flows, at no more than 78 fl oz of AV-203 (one container) per pail of AV-202-NTP. Do not use AV-203 when injecting at ratios higher than 1:1 water to grout, and do not rely on it as a stand-alone solution. At 1:1 with full catalyst (8:1 resin to catalyst), cream / gel time is 0:13 / 0:35 at 60 F. Do not store grout that has been catalyzed.
How do I clean equipment and store the resin?
Never clean with water, because the resin is water activated and will set in hoses and equipment. Flush uncured resin with AV-284 Pump Wash, purge with AV-208 Technical Grade Acetone before use, and remove cured resin with AV-222 Cleaner. Store between 45 F and 95 F (7 C and 35 C) in a dry place with the container tightly closed; opened containers should not be stored at the low end of that range.
