Albion AT400 Air-Powered Cartridge Applicator 1:1 and 2:1

The Albion AT400 is a two-hand pneumatic applicator for 1:1 or 2:1 two-component silicone and bonding adhesive on glazing and restoration work. The 400-series carriage takes either ratio with no change-over parts, including Dow Corning 121 structural glazing silicone. Crews keep both hands on the AT400 when the bead is in front of the body on a scaffold or bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I pick the Albion AT400 1:1/2:1 carriage instead of the AT400X4 4:1?
Pick the AT400 when the datasheet calls for 1:1 or 2:1 in a 400-series cartridge and you want no change-over parts. Pick the AT400X4 when the sheet calls for 4:1 in a 415 ml cartridge. Ratio on the sheet is the reason, not a handle preference.

Is the Albion AT400 listed for Dow Corning 121 structural glazing silicone?
Yes. Albion lists the AT400 as approved for Dow Corning 121 structural glazing sealant. Glazing crews use that path when the 400-series cartridge is 1:1 or 2:1 and shop air is already on the scaffold. Confirm the silicone sheet for cartridge geometry.

When should I use two-hand Albion AT400 on a curtain wall instead of the AT400-S suitcase?
Use the AT400 when the glazing bead is in front of the body and both hands can stay on the applicator. Use the AT400-S suitcase when one hand has to run a curtain wall, floor, or overhead line while the other keeps the mixer on the work.

How does no-change-over 1:1/2:1 help on the Albion AT400?
The AT400 accepts 1:1 or 2:1 400-series cartridges with no change-over parts, so a glazing crew can match the silicone ratio on the sheet without swapping pistons. That is a published carriage property. 4:1 415 ml work belongs on the AT400X4.

Why do restoration crews keep both hands on the Albion AT400?
Two-hand AT400 control keeps a structural glazing or bonding bead on line when the work is in front of the body on a scaffold or bench. Shop air moves the 2K silicone while both hands brace. Switch to AT400-S when the same 1:1/2:1 cartridge has to run one-handed along a wall.

How does shop air on a scaffold help the Albion AT400?
Shop air drives the AT400 so two-component glazing silicone keeps moving on a long curtain-wall joint instead of stalling a manual applicator. Start the regulator low and raise it until the bead rate matches the joint. Reverse retracts the pistons for reload.
