Ultrabond HYB-2CC is a hybrid anchoring adhesive for threaded rod and reinforcing bar when a crew needs cold-weather and fast-cure performance.
Ultrabond HYB-2CC from Adhesives Technology is a two-component, 10:1 hybrid adhesive for anchoring threaded rod and rebar in cracked or uncracked concrete. It is listed to ICC-ES ESR-4535, approved for dry, damp, and water-filled holes, and for placements down to 23°F, with a 30-minute full cure at 70°F. Other cartridge sizes are the 10oz cartridge (A10-HYB2CC) and the 14oz cartridge (A14-HYB2CC).

Why do crews keep Ultrabond HYB-2CC on a winter rod job?
Ultrabond HYB-2CC installs from 23F, which is colder than EPX-3CC at 48F and colder than HS-1CC structural at 43F. Winter rod and rebar work is the hybrid case, with a 30-minute full cure once the base is at 70F.
Does 28 oz Ultrabond HYB-2CC still use ICC-ES ESR-4535?
Yes. Ultrabond HYB-2CC is evaluated in ICC-ES ESR-4535 for cracked and uncracked concrete, including the 28 oz cartridge. Design hybrid anchors from that report, not from EPX-3CC ESR-4533 or HS-1CC ESR-4094.
Can Ultrabond HYB-2CC be used for post-installed rebar per ACI 318?
Yes. Alternative to cast-in-place reinforcing-bar connections per ACI 318 and IBC Chapter 19 is a listed Ultrabond HYB-2CC use. That is a rebar-detailing reason to keep the hybrid on the dowel.
Can Ultrabond HYB-2CC take threaded rod in cracked concrete as well as rebar?
Yes. Ultrabond HYB-2CC anchors threaded rod and reinforcing bar in cracked or uncracked concrete per ESR-4535. Rod and rebar share the hybrid listing. Post-installed rebar per ACI 318 is an extra HYB use, not a different adhesive.
How long does Ultrabond HYB-2CC need before a fixture can be loaded at 70F?
At 68F to 85F, Ultrabond HYB-2CC lists a 30-minute full cure. Do not disturb, torque, or load the anchor until that full-cure time has passed. That 30-minute hybrid clock is the fast-cure reason to pick HYB-2CC.
Is Ultrabond HYB-2CC suitable for water-saturated holes?
Yes. Dry, water-saturated, and water-filled holes are on the Ultrabond HYB-2CC sheet. Water-saturated hybrid anchoring is allowed. Submerged underwater remains a HS-1CC listing.
