Ultrabond 1 is a two-component, 1:1 mix ratio by weight and by volume, structural anchoring epoxy system offering exceptional strength for anchoring threaded rods, bolts and rebar dowels into uncracked concrete as well as grouting dowel bars and tie bars for full depth concrete pavement repairs.
Ultrabond 1 from Adhesives Technology is a two-component, 1:1 structural epoxy for anchoring threaded rod, bolts, and rebar in uncracked concrete. It is moisture insensitive, so it can go in and cure in damp holes, with a 40°F to 110°F application range and a 20-minute working time at 75°F. Typical work includes vertical-down and horizontal anchors, ASD tensile and shear loading, and grouting dowel bars for full-depth pavement repairs. The same epoxy is available as the 9 oz cartridge.

Is Ultrabond 1 rated for cracked concrete, or uncracked only?
Ultrabond 1 is the uncracked-concrete 1:1 structural epoxy for threaded rod, bolts, and rebar dowels. When the base is cracked and the spec wants a cracked-concrete epoxy, switch to Ultrabond HS-1CC. Do not treat Ultrabond 1 as a cracked/uncracked ICC epoxy.
Can Ultrabond 1 grout pavement dowel bars and tie bars?
Yes. Ultrabond 1 is used to grout dowel bars and tie bars for full-depth concrete pavement repairs. That pavement-dowel use is a primary listing, not an afterthought on the sheet.
Does Ultrabond 1 have much odor on an occupied jobsite?
Ultrabond 1 is called out for little to no odor. That is why crews keep it on interior rod and dowel work where a strong solvent smell would shut down the floor.
Has Ultrabond 1 been NTPEP evaluated for DOT work?
Ultrabond 1 is NTPEP evaluated and carries multiple DOT listings. Confirm the current state listing before a transportation dowel job, then stay on Ultrabond 1 rather than swapping in a cracked-concrete epoxy.
Can Ultrabond 1 bond fresh concrete to hardened concrete?
Yes. Besides anchoring, Ultrabond 1 bonds fresh concrete to hardened concrete and hardened concrete to hardened concrete. Keep that bonding use in mind on a pavement or repair pour that also needs rod in uncracked concrete.
Does Ultrabond 1 hold freeze-thaw on rod and rebar?
Ultrabond 1 is used for freeze-thaw exposure on rod, bolt, and rebar work in uncracked concrete. That is a jobsite reason to keep it on exterior pavement dowels that will cycle through winter.
