Emseal QuietJoint SHH is a mass-loaded acoustic partition closure for interior, non-moving joints at partitions, mullions, and head-of-wall.
Emseal QuietJoint SHH is a mass-loaded acoustic partition closure for interior, non-moving joints and gaps. The fire-resistant foam core, coated on two sides, blocks sound, draft, heat, cold, and dust between partitions, mullions, and head-of-wall conditions. It installs without metal anchors, fills the gap by compression, and is not for moving or trafficable joints.

What does SHH mean?
QuietJoint coated on two sides, used at the end of a partition to a mullion or similar two-face gap. SHG is the three-sided version; it is not this listing.
Will it take movement?
No. QuietJoint is for interior, non-moving joints and gaps. Overcompression can overload weak substrates.
What sound rating is published?
STC 53 and OITC 38 when tested in an STC 56 / OITC 38 wall at 2 in depth. Deeper installs raise the R-value.
Is it a fire-rated expansion joint?
The core is fire-resistant with Class A E84. It is not a UL 2079 moving fire joint like WFR2 or SSF2.
