WR Meadows NEOPRENE FLASHING MEMBRANE is a 60 mil uncured neoprene rolled sheet, supplied in a 18 Inch x 100 ft roll (150 sq ft). It is intended as an accessory flashing and protection course with HRM 714 hot-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing membrane, including in exposed conditions.
WR Meadows NEOPRENE FLASHING MEMBRANE (searched as neoprene flashing) is a 60 mil uncured neoprene sheet supplied in rolls. It is intended as an accessory flashing and protection course for HRM 714, the WR Meadows hot-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing membrane, at drains, curbs, transitions, penetrations and expansion joints. It is intended for exposed conditions in waterproofing and roofing applications and resists UV, oxidation, oils, grease and solvents. The sheet goes into HRM 714 while the membrane is hot, bends to shape at vertical and horizontal transitions, and is finished at the footing with POINTING MASTIC. This roll is 18 Inch wide; WR Meadows also lists 6, 12 and 18 Inch widths, each 100 ft long.

What is WR Meadows NEOPRENE FLASHING MEMBRANE used with?
It is an accessory flashing and protection course for HRM 714 hot-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing membrane. It flashes drains, curbs, transitions, penetrations and expansion joints, and it is intended for exposed conditions in waterproofing and roofing applications.
How is the neoprene flashing installed?
Remove the green protective film on top of the sheet before HRM 714 goes on. Set the flashing into HRM 714 while the membrane is hot and bend it to shape at vertical and horizontal transitions. Keep a minimum 2 Inch overlap, with hot-applied membrane visibly engaged beneath the overlaps.
How is it detailed at the footing?
Run it horizontally along the wall where it meets the footing, at least 3 Inch up the wall and 3 Inch onto the footing, and extend it past outside corners. Slit the extended portion lengthwise, place the horizontal flap out onto the footing and bend the vertical flap around the wall, then repeat in the opposite direction. Repair damaged areas with POINTING MASTIC.
How are inside and outside corners handled?
At inside corners, set the flashing into 125 mils of hot HRM 714, extending 3 Inch vertically and 3 Inch horizontally. At outside corners, set it into 125 mils of HRM 714 extending onto each adjacent plane, and terminate it at the footing with a bead of POINTING MASTIC.
How much area is in one 18 Inch roll?
A 18 Inch x 100 ft roll holds 150 sq ft of sheet before overlaps. The WR Meadows data sheet lists 6 Inch, 12 Inch and 18 Inch rolls, each 100 ft long.
Can it be left exposed?
Yes. It is intended for exposed conditions in waterproofing and roofing, resists weathering, UV and oxidation, and does not break at -40 F (-40 C) in the ASTM D2137 brittleness test. Water absorption is 8.5% maximum after 166 hours at 158 F (70 C).
