Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T is a chemically modified natural rubber (non-vulcanized) product. The manufacturing process chemically bonds a hydrophilic agent to the rubber. This permits the seal to undergo controlled expansion when exposed to moisture (approximately 2 times by volume). This expansion capability provides a "double locking" waterstop.

What is the difference between MC-2005T and MC-2010MN?
MC-2005T is 20 mm × 5 mm with adhesive backing and is commonly used for penetrations. MC-2010MN is 20 mm × 10 mm and is intended for non-moving joints and larger penetrations. See the Adeka MC-2010MN 82 ft Case.
How much does it expand?
Approximately two times by volume (120% volume change).
Does it require concrete coverage?
Yes. Minimum 4.0 to 5.0 inches depending on concrete compressive strength. The waterstop must be fully encapsulated.
Is the adhesive side permanent?
The adhesive aids positioning. Mechanical fastening (screws or nails) or additional adhesive may be used for secure placement.
