Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T is an adhesive-backed hydrophilic rubber strip for pipe penetrations, H-beams, and concrete joints on new or existing walls.
Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T is a non-vulcanized hydrophilic rubber strip with adhesive back for piping penetrations (typically 24 in or smaller), H-beams, and concrete joints. It swells about 2 times by volume and wants about 4 to 5 in of cover. Use it on new construction or on piping through existing walls. A thicker mesh profile is available as the Adeka MC-2010MN.

When should I use Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T instead of MC-2010MN?
MC-2005T is the adhesive 20 x 5 mm strip, typically for pipe 24 in or smaller. Adeka Ultraseal MC-2010MN is the 20 x 10 mm mesh strip for non-moving CIP joints and piping larger than 24 in. Pipe diameter and whether the joint is a formed CIP joint decide the profile.
What pipe diameter is Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T typically used for?
The piping sheet recommends MC-2005T where pipe diameter does not exceed 24 in. Larger pipe is the MC-2010MN job unless an Adeka representative signs off on MC-2005T for that diameter.
How much concrete cover does Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T need?
About 4.0 to 5.0 in, and the strip has to be fully encapsulated. That cover is a property of MC-2005T, not a pour sequence.
Can Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T be used in seawater or cement water?
Yes. The OCM sheet lists seawater and cement water among the solutions MC-2005T can perform in, with no toxic substances or heavy metals.
Can Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T go on a new wall penetration as well as an existing one?
Yes. The piping sheet lists new construction and piping penetrations through existing concrete walls. Both are MC-2005T uses when the pipe is in the typical 24 in range.
Is Adeka Ultraseal MC-2005T used around H-beams as well as pipe?
Yes. H-beams are a listed use alongside piping penetrations and concrete joints. The adhesive back is what seats MC-2005T on steel or pipe.
