WR Meadows VOCOMP-25 5 Gallon Pail

WR Meadows VOCOMP-25 is a ready-to-use curing and sealing compound formulated from acrylic polymers in a true water-based carrier. It is intended for work where a medium-to-high sheen is wanted to show the natural look of concrete without discoloring, checking, or peeling. It is milky white in the container, leaves a bluish cast when it first goes on, and dries clear. The film resists UV yellowing and raises resistance to chemicals, petroleum, abrasives, and mortar droppings. This 5 gallon pail covers about 1,500 sq ft on a broomed surface or about 2,500 sq ft on a troweled surface.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is WR Meadows VOCOMP-25 used?
Wherever a medium-to-high sheen is wanted on concrete. It cures, seals, and dustproofs new or old concrete, interior or exterior, horizontal or vertical, and is often used on driveways, sidewalks, patios, swimming pool areas, and commercial floors.

How much area does the VOCOMP-25 5 Gallon Pail cover?
About 300 sq ft per gallon on a broomed surface and about 500 sq ft per gallon on a troweled surface, so roughly 1,500 to 2,500 sq ft for this 5 gallon pail. Coverage varies with finish, concrete condition, and weather, so apply a test area first.

How is VOCOMP-25 applied?
Mix gently to avoid foaming. Spray a fine fog pattern with an industrial sprayer such as a Chapin 1949 and a 0.1 GPM nozzle, or use a lint-free roller or lambs wool applicator with a wet edge. Brush or roll out puddles. For more protection and sheen, two coats can go on at right angles, with each coat dry before the next.

How do I prepare the surface for VOCOMP-25?
On new concrete, apply once surface water has disappeared and walking workers will not mar the surface. Old concrete must be clean and dry, with stains, oil, grease, dust, and dirt removed, since the clear sheen will amplify them. Remove any curing compound other than VOCOMP-20, VOCOMP-25, or VOCOMP-30 completely first.

How long before VOCOMP-25 can take foot traffic?
Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours, and twelve hours is preferred. Drying time depends on application rate, temperature, and humidity.

What precautions apply to VOCOMP-25?
Keep it from freezing, do not dilute it, and do not mix it with any solvent-containing compound. Do not apply it if air, material, or surface temperatures will drop below 40 F within four hours. Do not use it on brick, stone, or hard-troweled concrete. On dense surfaces, too much film build can be scratched by pallets or dragged objects; for heavy forklift traffic, WR Meadows suggests MED-CURE or LIQUI-HARD instead.
