WR Meadows LIQUI-HARD ULTRA is a waterborne, lithium-silicate concrete densifier and chemical hardener in a 5 gallon pail. It is sprayed on and kept wet for 5 to 10 minutes, with no flushing or rinsing.
WR Meadows LIQUI-HARD ULTRA (often searched as liqui hard ultra) is a waterborne, lithium-silicate-based, colorless liquid that hardens and dustproofs concrete at a molecular level. As it penetrates, a reaction byproduct fills the pores, eliminating dusting and pitting and raising abrasion and chemical resistance. It stays on the surface for only 5 to 10 minutes and needs no flushing or rinsing. This 5 gallon pail covers about 4,000 to 5,000 sq ft on freshly placed hard-troweled concrete, about 2,250 to 4,000 sq ft on existing hard-troweled concrete, or about 1,250 to 2,000 sq ft on existing broomed concrete.

What coverage does the LIQUI-HARD ULTRA 5 Gallon Pail give?
Per gallon: 800 to 1000 sq ft on freshly placed hard-troweled concrete, 450 to 800 on existing hard-troweled concrete, and 250 to 400 on existing broomed concrete. For this 5 gallon pail that is about 4,000 to 5,000, 2,250 to 4,000, or 1,250 to 2,000 sq ft. Rates vary with finish and porosity.
How is LIQUI-HARD ULTRA applied?
Spray it in a uniform pattern with a sprayer such as a Chapin 1949 with a 0.5 GPM nozzle, and spread it with a microfiber applicator so it does not puddle. Keep the surface wet for 5 to 10 minutes, adding material where it dries faster, then remove any excess. No flushing or rinsing is needed.
Can LIQUI-HARD ULTRA go on fresh concrete?
Yes, after final finishing and control joint installation, once all saw-cut dust is removed. WR Meadows notes SIL-CRETE may be a better choice for freshly placed concrete and recommends contacting them. Do not cover a freshly treated area with plastic; use a breathable covering such as construction paper.
How long before LIQUI-HARD ULTRA takes foot traffic?
It dries in 1 to 2 hours, faster on newly placed concrete and slower on existing concrete. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours; twelve hours is preferable.
What temperatures and precautions apply?
Do not apply when the concrete is below 40 F or above 135 F, do not dilute, and keep the product from freezing. Do not over apply; use two thin coats if needed. Wash over-spray off glass, aluminum, and polished surfaces right away to avoid etching.
Is LIQUI-HARD ULTRA hazardous?
The data sheet lists it as non-combustible and non-hazardous with 0 g/L VOC. Direct contact can irritate skin and eyes, and spray mist can irritate the respiratory tract. See the Safety Data Sheet for full details.
