Pentra-Sil (244+) is a Nano-Lithium hardener, densifier, and hydrophobic sealer for concrete that needs salt, freeze-thaw, and chloride defense.
Pentra-Sil (244+) from Adhesives Technology is a Nano-Lithium hardener, densifier, and hydrophobic sealer for existing concrete and masonry. It is built for salt, freeze-thaw, moisture, and chloride exposure on parking decks, sidewalks, and industrial slabs. The penetrating, breathable treatment dust-proofs and hardens without a film to peel. Wait at least seven days after placement before applying.

Can Pentra-Sil (244+) go down as a time-of-placement densifier?
No. Pentra-Sil (244+) is not recommended as a time-of-placement densifier. Wait a minimum of 7 days after the concrete is placed. The high solids can react with moisture in younger concrete and leave white staining.
Does Pentra-Sil (244+) leave a coating to peel later?
Pentra-Sil (244+) is a penetrating, breathable treatment with no film to lift or peel. It reacts with calcium hydroxide to form calcium silicate hydrate inside the slab. There is nothing to strip when the floor is maintained.
How does Pentra-Sil (244+) help against deicing salt?
Pentra-Sil (244+) combines Nano-Lithium densification with reactive silicone chemistry to meet the NCHRP 244 intent for chloride protection in a single application. Reduced permeability is the reason it is used on parking garages, pool decks, sidewalks, and driveways.
Will Pentra-Sil (244+) contribute to surface ASR?
The current Pentra-Sil (244+) sheet states it does not contribute to surface ASR or promote crazing. That is a reason to keep 244+ on exterior slabs that already have freeze-thaw and chloride exposure.
Is Pentra-Sil (244+) meant for loading docks and hangars?
Yes. Loading docks, hangars, and vehicle-maintenance areas are listed uses, along with parking garages and sidewalks. Those are existing slabs that need chloride and freeze-thaw defense, not a polish densifier.
Does Pentra-Sil (244+) need a rinse after placement?
Pentra-Sil (244+) is described as a low-odor spray with no rinsing on many placements. Follow the current 244+ sheet for residual material. Do not treat it as a film-forming sealer that has to be stripped.
