WR Meadows LIQUI-HARD is a water-based, ready-to-use clear silicate densifier and chemical hardener in a 55 gallon drum. It penetrates concrete and reacts to fill the pores, hardening and dustproofing the surface.
WR Meadows LIQUI-HARD is a proprietary, water-based, clear silicate liquid intended to harden and dustproof concrete. As it penetrates, a chemical reaction produces a byproduct that fills the pores, leaving a denser surface that raises abrasion and chemical resistance and eliminates dusting and pitting. It is used in industrial plants, warehouses, and heavy pedestrian traffic areas, and with shake-on hardeners. This 55 gallon drum covers about 16,500 sq ft on fresh concrete or about 11,000 sq ft on existing concrete.

What coverage does the LIQUI-HARD 55 Gallon Drum give?
300 sq ft per gallon on fresh concrete (used as a curing aid) and 200 sq ft per gallon on existing concrete, or about 16,500 or 11,000 sq ft for this 55 gallon drum. Rates vary with the finish and porosity of the concrete.
How is LIQUI-HARD applied to existing concrete?
The surface must be clean and thoroughly dry. Saturate it with undiluted LIQUI-HARD by sprayer, squeegee, or broom and keep it wet for 30 to 60 minutes. When it starts to gel and turn slippery, mist with water and scrub for another 5 to 10 minutes until it gels again, then flush thoroughly with water and squeegee the floor dry.
Does excess LIQUI-HARD need to be removed?
Yes. Failing to wash off all excess material can leave white stains. Slippery patches mean excess remains, so re-flush and squeegee those areas. Wash over-spray off glass, aluminum, and highly polished surfaces right away to avoid etching.
Can LIQUI-HARD be used on fresh concrete?
Yes, after final finishing and control joint installation, with a low-pressure, high-volume sprayer such as a Chapin 1949 with a 0.5 GPM nozzle. WR Meadows notes that MED-CURE may be a better choice for freshly placed concrete. Do not dilute the product and keep it from freezing; see the data sheet for concrete temperature limits.
