Frequently Asked Questions
How is Lockstop installed?
Brush a 2 in wide coat of Lockstop Primer Adhesive along the joint and allow about 2 hours to dry. Press Lockstop firmly into the primed area, achieving roughly 25 percent lateral spread. Apply primer and waterstop the same day.
Can I fasten it mechanically?
Yes. In vertical or overhead work, concrete nails may be used at about 12 in on center in addition to primer adhesive.
How are splices made?
Lap ends side-by-side about 1 in, then mold the material until there are no gaps or air pockets. Lockstop can also be bent around corners to avoid cutting.
When should the separation paper be removed?
Do not remove it until just before the second concrete pour. Inspect the strip for continuity and cleanliness before placing concrete.
Does it swell like hydrophilic waterstops?
No. Lockstop does not expand, so it does not create internal joint pressure and can be located outside reinforcing steel with minimal cover.
