Euclid Dural 452 MV – 2 Gallon Unit

Dural 452 MV is a two-component, 100% solids, moisture-insensitive, high-modulus epoxy adhesive and binder for concrete and steel. The 1:1 mix ratio simplifies dosing, the medium viscosity wets substrates well, and the system develops very high bond and mechanical strengths. Use neat for bonding and anchoring or blend with silica sand to produce a durable epoxy repair mortar.

Key Features

  • Exceptional adhesion to prepared concrete and steel.
  • Easy 1:1 mix by volume; 100% solids and moisture insensitive.
  • High strength and stiffness for structural bonding.
  • Medium viscosity for brush, roller, squeegee, or spray application.
  • Blend with silica sand to create a trowelable epoxy mortar.
  • Complies with ASTM C881 Types I, II, IV, V; Grade 2; Class C and AASHTO M235.
  • Two-year shelf life in unopened containers.

Applications

  • Bonding fresh concrete to hardened concrete substrates.
  • Bonding hardened concrete to hardened concrete.
  • Anchoring bolts, dowels, and pins in horizontal substrates.
  • General adhesive for concrete, masonry, and prepared steel.
  • Epoxy mortar for patching when filled with graded sand.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare the surface?
Substrates must be sound, clean, and dry. Mechanically roughen concrete to a CSP profile and remove dust. For steel, prepare to a near-white finish (SSPC SP10).

What is the recommended mixing method?
Pre-mix Parts A and B separately, then combine 1:1 by volume and mix 3–5 minutes with a low-speed drill and appropriate paddle. Avoid entraining air.

How is it used as a bonding agent for fresh concrete?
Apply to the prepared substrate by brush, roller, squeegee, or spray, and place new concrete while the epoxy is still tacky. Do not place concrete over dried epoxy.

Can I anchor dowels with Dural 452 MV?
Yes for vertically aligned anchors set into horizontal substrates. Do not use for horizontal or overhead anchoring. Follow hole sizing and embedment guidance.

How do I make an epoxy mortar?
Mix the resin, then add clean, dry 20/40 silica sand at about 3 parts sand to 1 part mixed epoxy by volume. Place in lifts up to about 1.5 in.

Temperature limits?
Apply and cure between about 50°F and 90°F. Warmer temperatures shorten working time.
