WR Meadows INTRAGUARD is a water-based, penetrating silane/siloxane water repellent for concrete and masonry, supplied in a 55 gallon drum. It reduces water and chloride intrusion and helps protect against scaling from de-icing salts.
WR Meadows INTRAGUARD is a water-based, penetrating sealing compound with a proprietary blend of silane and siloxane. It goes into the pores of concrete and masonry to reduce the intrusion of water and chlorides, which helps reduce scaling from de-icing salts and keeps water out of vertical masonry. It works on horizontal and vertical surfaces, including parking lots, driveways, walkways and walls. Good concreting practice still matters: it will not be effective on improperly designed, placed or cured concrete. It is for above-grade use and is not intended for surfaces that are constantly submerged.

What does WR Meadows INTRAGUARD protect against?
It reduces the intrusion of water and chlorides into concrete and masonry, which helps protect properly placed and cured concrete from scaling and freeze/thaw damage caused by de-icing chemicals. It also protects vertical masonry from the ingress of water.
How much area does a 55 gallon drum of INTRAGUARD cover?
The data sheet gives approximately 50-250 sq ft/gal, so a 55 gallon drum covers about 2,750-13,750 sq ft. The rate depends on surface finish and texture, concrete condition and weather, so test an area first.
How soon can INTRAGUARD go on new concrete?
For best results, wait 14-28 days on new concrete and masonry. The substrate moisture content must not exceed 4%, and the surface should be clean, fully cured and thoroughly dry, with joints repointed and flashings and sealants in good condition.
How is INTRAGUARD put down?
It can be sprayed, brushed or rolled; the data sheet recommends a sprayer such as a Chapin 1949 with a nozzle giving 0.1 GPM at 40 psi. On horizontal surfaces, amply saturate, roll or brush out puddles and remove all excess after 5-10 minutes. On vertical surfaces, work from the bottom up with a 6-10 inch rundown, wait 10-15 minutes, then put on a second coat wet on wet.
Will INTRAGUARD stop leaks through cracks?
No. It will not prevent water penetration through structural cracks or open joints, and it will not hide existing stains. It is intended for above-grade use and not for surfaces that are constantly submerged in water.
What happens if it rains after treatment?
Protect treated surfaces from rain for at least six hours. If rain falls and the surface turns white, thoroughly flush the surface and put on more product once it is dry.
