Sikaflex 1A is a premium-grade, high-performance, polyurethane-based, non-sag elastomeric sealant. Sikaflex 1A can be used in green and damp concrete applications and is readily placeable at 40°F.
Sikaflex-1A is a premium-grade, moisture-cured, 1-component, polyurethane-based, non-sag elastomeric joint sealant and adhesive. It meets ASTM C920 (Type S, Grade NS, Class 35, Use T, NT, O, M, A, I) and Federal Specification TT-S-00230C Type II, Class A. Sikaflex-1A is designed for vertical and horizontal joints, including green and damp concrete applications, where strong adhesion, long-term flexibility, and weather resistance are required. Maximum sealant depth must not exceed 1/2 in.

What joint size limits should I follow?
Sikaflex-1A is designed for joints where the maximum sealant depth does not exceed 1/2 in. Minimum depth is 1/4 in.
Can Sikaflex-1A be applied to green or damp concrete?
Yes. It can be applied to green concrete 24 hours after pour and can be applied to damp concrete 1 hour after getting wet, provided there is no standing water.
Does Sikaflex-1A require a primer?
Priming is not usually necessary. Some substrates or immersion conditions may require priming based on adhesion testing.
When can I paint over the sealant?
The sealant should be allowed to cure for 7 days prior to overcoating. Compatibility and adhesion testing is recommended for the specific paint system.
What are the typical cure and tack-free times?
Tack-free time is 3 to 6 hours and cure time is 4 to 7 days at 73°F and 50% r.h.
