What is Spal-Pro RS 88?
Spal-Pro RS 88 is a rapid-setting, two-component polyurea joint filler for industrial and retail concrete floors. It is not an elastomeric sealant. This page is Mocha Brown, 600 ml dual-cartridge case of 12.
How soon can traffic return, and when can I shave?
At 70°F, gel time is 1 to 2 minutes, tack-free is 5 minutes, the crown can be razored as early as 15 minutes, light traffic is 30 minutes, and full traffic is 1 hour. Test shave time on the slab; cold floors slow the cut.
How deep should the joint be filled?
Fill saw-cut contraction joints full depth, or 2 in minimum when the saw-cut is deeper than 2 in. Formed construction joints get a 2 in minimum. Do not use compressible backer rod in saw-cuts less than 2 in deep.
When should RS 88 be installed?
Defer as long as possible after slab placement. Do not install before 30 days. ACI recommends 60 to 90 days or longer so the slab can shrink and the joint can open. Bring the room to final operating temperature first.
Can it be used on polished or stained floors?
Yes. RS 88 is colorfast and will not smudge or smear during grinding or polishing. Wet-process honing can start at 30 minutes; dry-process at 3 to 4 hours at 70°F.
What packaging is published?
Manufacturer kits are 10 gallon bulk (two 5 gallon pails) and 600 ml dual-cartridges. Pigment packs tint Neutral bulk and are accessories, not another color of this cartridge.
