WR Meadows ACRY-LOK is a high-solid acrylic polymer latex admixture and bonding agent that will not re-emulsify once fully dry, supplied in a 55 gallon drum. It is used in slurry bond coats and to modify mortars, toppings, grouts and concrete.
WR Meadows ACRY-LOK is a high-solid, acrylic polymer latex admixture and bonding agent. This milky white liquid is non-yellowing in Portland cement mortars and concrete. As an admixture it raises abrasion, impact and crack resistance, flexural strength and freeze/thaw tolerance, and it reduces permeability for added protection from chloride intrusion and scaling. Mixed into a slurry bond coat, it improves the bond between existing concrete and a fresh cement-based topping or repair mortar. Because ACRY-LOK will not re-emulsify once fully dry, repairs and mortars fortified with it suit interior, exterior and moisture-related applications. It is intended for professional contractors and industrial use only.

Can ACRY-LOK be used neat as a bonding agent?
Yes. Brush, roll or spray it undiluted onto the prepared surface at 100 - 200 sq ft per gallon depending on porosity, so a 55 gallon drum covers about 5,500 to 11,000 sq ft. Used neat it generally helps the bond but does not conform to ASTM C 1059-91, Type II. Place the concrete or mortar before the surface dries, usually 10-15 minutes; if it dries, reapply.
How is an ACRY-LOK slurry bond coat mixed?
Mix one part cement to two parts sand, then add undiluted ACRY-LOK to a slurry consistency. Typically a 5 gallon pail of dry sand and cement mixed with 1 - 1.5 gallons of ACRY-LOK covers 40 sq ft at 1/8 Inch. Work it into the SSD concrete with a stiff masonry brush, and place the topping before the slurry becomes tack-free, usually 30 minutes at 75 F. Heat, direct sun and wind shorten that time.
How is ACRY-LOK used as an admixture?
Blend one part cement to three parts sand, then add ACRY-LOK until the desired consistency is reached, without over mixing. For redi-mix, add 1 - 3 gallons per 100 lb of cement and remove an equal amount of water. Cure the work right away with undiluted ACRY-LOK or WR Meadows 1100 or 1600-WHITE series curing compounds, not solvent-based curing compounds.
What limits apply to ACRY-LOK?
Do not apply it, or use it as an admixture, when the temperature is expected to fall below 45 F within 48 hours or rain is expected within 24 hours, and do not let it freeze. It may increase air content and will alter mechanical properties. It is not to be used as a structural bonding agent for toppings under 1.5 Inch (38.1 mm) thick. Do not wet cure anything modified with ACRY-LOK, including test cylinders.
