Tremco TREMPRO Chem-X Pro White 10oz Cartridge

Tremco TREMPRO Chem-X Pro is a single-component, multi-purpose, non-sagging hybrid polymer adhesive/sealant intended to bond the variety of substrates found in manufacturing. It is solvent and isocyanate free, resists weathering, and has both adhesive and sealant capabilities, with strong adhesion and flexibility once fully cured. Typical uses include vehicles, RVs, cargo trailers, semi-trailers and truck bodies, steel tanks, HVAC units, boats, metal buildings, modular construction and cabinets. It goes on with conventional caulking or pressure equipment, skins in 20 – 25 minutes, and can be painted after 24 hours. Apply it only between 41°F (5°C) and 95°F (35°C), and test adhesion on the actual materials before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can TREMPRO Chem-X Pro bond?
Typical substrates include metals, plastic, wood, foam, vinyl and drywall. Typical applications include vehicles, RVs, cargo trailers, semi-trailers, truck bodies, steel tanks, HVAC units, boats, metal buildings, modular construction and cabinets. Tremco recommends adhesion testing before use.

Does it need a primer?
It typically adheres to common construction substrates without primers. Finishes such as Kynar and anodized aluminum vary, so Tremco recommends application-specific testing on the actual materials to confirm whether a primer is needed and how to clean and prepare them.

How should surfaces be prepared?
Surfaces must be free of oil, grease, wax, dust, corrosion, moisture or anything that may interfere with adhesion. A dry rag or brush is recommended for dust and dirt. Do not use Xylol or MEK unless the surface can dry before application; the sealant will not adhere properly to a substrate wet with solvent.

What temperatures can it be applied in?
Do not apply below 41°F (5°C) or above 95°F (35°C). The optimum temperature for substrate and sealant is 59°F (15°C) to 77°F (25°C). Once cured, the service temperature range is -40°F (-40°C) to 212°F (100°C).

Can it be painted?
Yes, after 24 hours, or after 3 days with a relatively inflexible paint. Any latex and most oil-based paints are fine, and best results come from priming the sealant with latex enamel. Some paints might crack in dynamic joints.

How is it tooled and cleaned up?
Do not use alcohol or alcohol-containing agents for tooling. Remove it from guns and tools before it cures; excess can be scraped off with solvents, observing the solvent maker's precautions. Cured material is removed by cutting or abrasion. Shelf life is 12 months minimum stored below 95°F (35°C).
