Frequently Asked Questions

Can Dymonic 100 be used as a fluid-applied flashing at a window or curtain-wall rough opening?
Yes. Dymonic 100 is a liquid-applied flashing under AAMA 714-15 and ICC Section R703.8. The sheet also lists crack bridging (ASTM C1305) and nail sealability (ASTM D1970). Use it at fenestration, door, and curtain-wall rough-opening perimeters.

How much joint movement can Dymonic 100 take?
Dymonic 100 is ASTM C920 Class 50, with ASTM C719 movement of plus or minus 50 percent. In typical field conditions Tremco rates it at +100/-50 percent. That is why it is used on expansion joints and precast panel joints that see large movement.

Can I coat over Dymonic 100 with Vulkem, ExoAir, or TREMproof?
Yes. Once Dymonic 100 is cured, it is compatible with and can be coated over with Tremco Vulkem deck coatings, ExoAir air barriers, and cold fluid-applied TREMproof below-grade waterproofing. That compatibility does not make Dymonic 100 a Vulkem coating or an air barrier.

Is Dymonic 100 resistant to jet fuel?
Yes. The current Tremco sheet lists Dymonic 100 as jet fuel-resistant. It is still a joint sealant and flashing, not a fuel-tank lining.

Can I paint Dymonic 100?
Dymonic 100 can be painted, but that does not mean every paint will stick. Check paint adhesion and compatibility. Tremco points to Technical Bulletin No. S-09-05 or Tremco Technical Services when the coating is unproven.

Is Dymonic 100 accepted on Nudura insulated concrete forms?
Yes. Tremco lists Dymonic 100 as accepted for use over Nudura ICF. Confirm the current Nudura and Tremco details for the wall assembly before you place it.
