WearShield Rapid is used in a variety of industries – from mines to power plants – on a diverse range of processing and plant equipment. It is ideal for the maintenance and repair of ash handling systems, scrubbers, silos, chutes, mills and metal castings. It is applied to protect equipment, machinery and surfaces subjected to intense processes by forming a new alumina-reinforced, toughened shell in excess of 6mm thickness over parts.
It can be applied to metal, wood and most plastics. WearShield Rapid has a short work time of five minutes and a full cure of three hours, minimising disruption and downtime by enabling equipment to be put back into service quickly.
WearShield Rapid sets to a dark grey colour and the alumina (aluminum oxide) beads are visible in the cured material. It is supplied in 3kg quantities.
