Sikalastic HLM 5000 GC – Cold-Applied Waterproofing Membrane

Sikalastic HLM 5000 GC is a one-component, bitumen-modified polyurethane waterproofing membrane that cures with moisture. Designed for horizontal and vertical surfaces, this cold-applied elastomeric system works well in below-grade, split-slab, and deck waterproofing applications. It goes down fast, forms a seamless barrier, and doesn't need hot-applied equipment. Use it where you need reliable, high-build waterproofing—foundation walls, plazas, garages, and planters included.

Key Features:

  • Cold-applied – no hot-melt tools needed
  • Flexible and elastomeric – accommodates movement
  • Can be applied to damp concrete
  • Available in standard and high-build versions
  • Passes ASTM C 1305 for crack bridging
  • High chemical resistance – holds up to salts, acids, and more
  • Meets ASTM C 836 and Canadian CGSB 37.58-M86

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I apply Sikalastic HLM 5000 GC to damp concrete?
Yes, it can be applied to damp (but not wet or saturated) concrete surfaces as long as the surface is clean and sound.

Is this system suitable for vertical surfaces?
Yes. For vertical applications, brush or roll on at 25 ft²/gal. It cures into a seamless membrane that stays bonded to vertical substrates.

What is the cure time before backfilling?
Curing takes 24–48 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Protection boards or drainage mats should be installed after curing.

How should I prep the surface before application?
Remove any curing agents or surface contaminants. Make sure the concrete has cured for at least 72 hours—or 24 hours after form removal.
