Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the densifier first?
Dayton gets best results by densifying with PENTRA-HARD Densifier before Finish. Finish is the gloss/stain coat, not the hardener.

Is it a wax?
No. It forms a breathable micro-surface that does not build up like wax. Periodic recoat needs no stripping.

Coverage?
First coat 1,500-3,000 sq ft/gal; later coats 3,000-4,000 sq ft/gal. Porous floors take more.

Food facilities?
Dayton publishes SGS testing to 21 CFR 175.300 for food contact.
